Consulting Practice: Financial Management

The OneStream Engineer / Developer within Vertical Launch’s Financial Management practice, responsible for designing, leading, and advising on complex OneStream implementations and optimization initiatives. We are seeking multiple positions, from entry-level up to senior architects! This role partners closely with client finance leadership, technical stakeholders, and internal delivery teams to architect scalable, high-performing OneStream solutions across planning, budgeting, consolidation, reporting, and analytics.

Success in this role requires a balance of deep OneStream technical expertise, financial acumen, delivery leadership, and executive advisory presence. The OneStream Architect plays a central role in shaping solution architecture, mentoring delivery teams, and supporting the continued growth of Vertical Launch’s OneStream practice—particularly within federal and regulated environments.

Core Responsibilities

OneStream Architecture & Solution Design

  • Architect and lead end-to-end OneStream solutions supporting planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, and analytics.

  • Own solution design decisions across dimensional modeling, extensibility, security, workflow, business rules, and performance optimization.

  • Translate complex finance and operational requirements into scalable technical architectures and detailed design artifacts.

Data Integration & Technical Delivery

  • Design and oversee data integration strategies, including ETL workflows from ERPs and other enterprise systems, ensuring data quality, reconciliation, and auditability.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership during build, testing, deployment, and post–go-live support.

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical and architectural issues.

Client & Executive Advisory

  • Partner with client finance and technology leaders to modernize budgeting, consolidation, and analytics environments.

  • Advise senior stakeholders on architecture tradeoffs, platform capabilities, and long-term scalability considerations.

  • Support solution scoping, estimates, and client presentations as part of proposal and business development efforts.

Team Leadership & Practice Development

  • Mentor and coach consultants and developers, establishing architecture standards, reusable components, and delivery best practices.

  • Contribute to the development and maturation of Vertical Launch’s OneStream delivery methodology and accelerators.

  • Collaborate with practice leadership to grow and scale the OneStream practice.

Required Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of hands-on OneStream experience for analyst-level positions.

  • 2-5 years of hands-on OneStream experience for developers.

  • 5+ years of hands-on OneStream experience (including multiple full lifecycle implementations as a technical lead or architect) for senior-level positions.

  • Deep expertise in OneStream architecture concepts, including extensible dimensionality, cubes, workflows, security, dashboards, and reporting.

  • Strong proficiency with OneStream business rules and member formulas (C# and VB.NET), data management, and integration tooling.

  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes, including consolidations, intercompany eliminations, budgeting, and multi-currency reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly advise senior client stakeholders.

  • Willingness to work on-site in the Arlington, VA area as needed for client engagements, workshops, and team collaboration.

Desired Qualifications

  • OneStream certifications (e.g., OneStream Certified Professional – Lead Architect).

  • Experience delivering solutions in federal or regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with PPBE, federal financial systems, or FedRAMP-aligned delivery contexts.

  • Prior experience in a consulting environment supporting enterprise finance transformations.​Please note that all positions are considered hybrid and located in the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area
